Workshop on Media for Church Leaders Held
Guwahati (CBCI News) : North East Social Communication (NESCOM) organized a two- day workshop in North East Social Forum, here, 28-29 May for the media persons of the church in region.
Fr. Joe Eruppakkatt ssp and Mr. Michael Peria, led the workshop consisditing of 55 participants. Fr. Gilbert ssp, the regional secretary for social communications and the organizer of the programme, urged the participants to make the church a communicating church which is relevant today.
Fr. Eruppakkat, from Mumbai, pointed out the importance of media in the proclamation of the Good News. The topics of the workshop included: The why and how of Christian writers, qualities needed for Christian writers, news gathering and news writing, feature writing,
interviews, citizen journalism. Mr Michael Peria, from Hyderabad, spoke on websites, process of website designing and management, social media, and how to apply the social media in ministry.
Bishop George Palliparambil of Miao, and the Chairman of NESCOM, while celebrating the Eucharist, urged the participants to put into practice what they have learnt from the workshop. He said, “Let us remain focused to make our life and ministry more relevant and appealing to the people and the times.
