KCBC Commission for SC/ST/BC organised Oath taking ceremony for the Dalit Christian MahaSabha (DCMS) Sate level leaders.
An Oath taking ceremony of the State level leaders of DCMS took place on 6th June 2018 at Pastoral Animation Centre (POC), Cochin. The program was organised by Rev. Fr. Shaj Kumar, Regional secretary to the Kerala Catholic Bishops’ Council (KCBC) Commission for SC/ST/BC. Most Rev. Soosai Packiam the President of KCBC presided over the program.
The oath taking ceremony took place in the presence of Most Rev. Jacob Murickan, Chairperson for the KCBC Commission for SC/ST/BC, and Most Rev. Ponnumuthan, and Most Rev. Sebastian Vice chairpersons of KCBC Commission for SC/ST/BC.
Fr. Devasagayaraj, National Secretary for the CBCI Office for SC/BC explained different programs and activities that are undertaken by the National Office. He also clarified the queries of the participants regarding the CBCI Dalit Empowerment Policy. Annual plan for the DCMS was prepared by the participants in consultation with Fr. Shaj Kumar the Director of DCMS. DCMS is officially recognised by the KCBC and all the activities of the KCBC Commission for SC/ST/BC are executed through DCMS and thus encouraging the lay leadership.
