In the light of the Communication received from the Apostolic Nunciature, I wish to inform you that His Holiness, Pope Francis has accepted the resignation of His Lordship Rt. Rev. Aleixo Das Neves Dias, SFX as Bishop of Port Blair (Andaman and Nicobar Islands).

The announcement took place in Rome on Sunday, 6^th January 2019, at noon, corresponding to 4:30 p.m. Indian time.

We thank Bishop Aleixo Das Neves Dias, SFX for his dedicated services to the Church in Port Blair and the Church in India, and we entrust him to the intercession of Our Lady, Queen of Apostles.
