Sad Demise of Bishop Charles Soreng, SJ, Bishop Emeritus of Hazaribagh.

Greetings from the CBCI Secretariat.
With great sadness and sorrow we inform you that Bishop Emeritus Charles Soreng SJ of Hazaribagh, Jharkhand expired this morning at 8.40 a.m in Seva Nilaya Health Centre Aragate Ranchi. He was born on 18th August 1934, he was ordained a priest on 24th March 1969 and was consecrated Bishop on 09th February 1990 as Bishop of Hazaribag. He was 84 years old.
The funeral of Bishop Emeritus Charles Soreng SJ of Hazaribagh who is also a former Secretary General of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India and the former Chairman of the CBCI Office for SC/ST will be celebrated in the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Our Lord, Hazaribagh on Tuesday 15th January at 1 PM.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace.
