Major Seminary Professors Attend Refresher Course
Dalhousie (CBCI News): The Annual Refresher Course for the professors of Holy Trinity Regional Major Seminary, Jalandhar, was held at St. Francis Ashram, Dalhousie, June 3-6. Fr. Francis Gonsalves SJ, Principal of Vidyajyoti College of Theology, Delhi, was the main resource person. The bishops of the region attended the course and the meetings.
The presentations dealt with the Year of Faith and the challenge of ‘Looking Within,’ ‘Looking Backward’ and ‘Looking Ahead’ to define and live one’s Christian identity and mission. Fr. Gonsalves stressed inter-religious dialogue, concern for ecology, building bridges with the Muslim world, moving beyond one’s own domestic walls, as important challenges for our times. Our collective dream, he said, should be to build the Kingdom of God.
Fr. Arockia Dhas, Deputy Secretary, Northern region Bishops’ Council, presented the 10-Year National Pastoral Plan of CCBI. The plan includes the recommendations of the CCBI for various commissions, such as Priestly Formation, Faith Formation, Youth Catechesis, Biblical Apostolate, Liturgy, Proclamation, Small Christian Communities, Family Apostolate, Women Apostolate, Youth Apostolate, Inter-religious Dialogue. He also shared the findings of his research on the functioning of SCC’s in the Archdiocese of Bombay.
